Penetration sealing after M&E first-fix

After M&E first-fix, reinstatement of compartmentation at service openings. This is the firestop installation package typically purchased by main contractors and M&E subcontractors in Dublin and the surrounding counties — not a walk-round of an occupied block.

Pipes, cables, cable trays and ducts through masonry, shaft wall and concrete floors. We install the tested system named on the issued specification: collars, wraps, coated batts, sealant — as specified, not as substituted from the van. Mixed services are sealed only where the issued system covers that combination. If the combination on site is not on the detail, the query goes back to the design party.

We work from penetration schedules and details. An opening that is not on the schedule is treated as a variation or a provisional sum — not as a search of the riser for undocumented openings. Tags and IDs are applied to match the seal register so photographs can be read against the Assigned Certifier’s pack.

Programme after first-fix

Sealing follows the M&E release of a floor or a riser, not the other way around. If first-fix is still moving, say so — we will price attendances rather than assume a single hit. Evening or weekend sealing when a live floor is clear is included only if the quotation provides for it. Documents for pricing are the penetration schedule, compartmentation drawings, and the named system on the fire specification — plus the programme window if attendances must follow first-fix floors.

What we do not do

We do not select the collar, wrap, batt or sealant family. We do not approve mixed-service combinations that are not covered by the issued detail. We do not walk the building to find extra openings. We do not hold professional indemnity for design and we do not sign a design ancillary.
